RICO complements CAS

RICO GmbH - TV Inspektion

The cross-brand Cordless Alliance System (CAS) battery alliance continues to grow. RICO, the expert for TV inspection technology, is part of the Cordless Alliance System (CAS) and adds a battery-powered push camera as the 28th member of the cooperation.

Nürtingen/Kempten, February 2022: RICO has been around for more than 40 years. And from the very beginning, it has been at the forefront of TV inspection technology. RICO is one of the leading manufacturers of mobile TV inspection systems up to completely dismantled TV inspection vehicles. The company, based in the Allgäu region of Germany, offers solutions for the inspection of sewers, freshwater and wastewater pipes, wastewater engineering structures and shafts, as well as drainage pipes. Now RICO CAS is joining the cross-brand battery alliance initiated by the Nürtingen-based power tool manufacturer Metabo. The company is bringing its TINY PC.3 cordless push camera to the table. “The concept and technology behind the cooperation convinced us right away. As a partner in the alliance, we give our customers access to a whole range of other special machines, all of which can be operated with a rechargeable battery,” says Markus Hans, RICO sales manager. “CAS is the largest cross-manufacturer battery alliance on the market and is correspondingly broadly positioned. There are suitable machines for every trade, and our customers benefit enormously from this.”

Large selection for SHK professionals

The RICO product range includes a comprehensive program for professional users from the SHK industry. “RICO gives us even better access to the SHK market,” explains Metabo CEO Henning Jansen. “Overall, this makes CAS even more attractive for professionals in this trade. We already have a lot of machines in our range that are precisely tailored to the requirements of sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology. We can now expand this further.” For SHK professionals, for example, the SHK tools from Rothenberger and Virax, the lights from Scangrip and various Metabo machines from angle grinders to hammer drills are the right choice. “A typical application for SHKers would be, for example, the examination of a house connection,” Markus Hans says. “The professional finds the right machines for this at CAS. He illuminates the work area with the construction spotlights from Scangrip and, to examine and record the condition of the pipe, he uses our battery-operated push camera. For pipe cleaning, the Rothenberger pipe cleaning device is the right choice, and to press pipes, he uses the Rothenberger cordless pipe press, for example. If connecting flanges for ventilation and heating ducts have to be attached, the TRUMPF jointing press is just right. The bottom line is: one application area, several machines, but only one battery – thanks to CAS.”

Everything in view

With the TINY PC.3 battery-powered push camera from RICO, pipe inspection is easy. The device is compact and particularly robust. As a true lightweight among push cameras, it can be transported effortlessly to any location. Users can also use the device in confined spaces and store it in a space-saving manner thanks to the fold-away monitor. The camera also has a lot to offer in terms of flexibility: It can be operated with two battery packs as well as with a cable. In addition, users can connect the battery camera to an inspection vehicle.

RICO is one of currently 28 CAS partners. Within the alliance, users can easily combine battery machines, battery packs and chargers.
