ENGAGEMENT and SUSTAINABILITY

RICO is a company of the Rothenberger Group and as such we are committed to people who need help. Against this background, the Rothenberger family set up the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation in 2008, which has been committed to the common good ever since. With the partner network built up over the years, the projects are implemented and also supported after completion. The funded projects are designed for a sustainable improvement in living conditions and durability. The foundation’s work is guided by the motto “helping people to help themselves”.

TOOLS FOR LIFE

Clean drinking water and a functioning energy supply are still not a matter of course in many parts of the world. Pipes and power lines are like the arteries in the human body. A decent life is not possible without access to water and energy. Education is another key to development. It is also not accessible to everyone. But only with education can prosperity be created for future generations.

With the HERO Award, the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation annually honors organizations and people who stand up for people and against grievances in everyday life. The prize money is collected through the “Donations instead of gifts” campaign, which is supported by foundation-related companies and employees of ROTHENBERGER AG.

Living together in Kelkheim e.V. is our HERO 2019. The association is committed to an integrative and colorful society in Kelkheim. Living with one another in Kelkheim was founded in 2017 to bundle the voluntary commitment that was widely visible in response to the many refugees in 2015. The aim of the association is to help shape cooperation in Kelkheim in a diverse, open and tolerant manner.

The HERO 2020 is fixed! The Anyievo-Ekpui / Togo association won the award ceremony. The association from Tauberbischofsheim is committed to the education of children and young people in the village of Ekpui in Togo. The association was founded in 2013 and has been officially recognized as a non-profit, non-governmental organization in Togo since 2015. So far, the association has built a kindergarten, a sewing school and a well for clean drinking water.

Our philosophy

In the sense of “helping people to help themselves”, TOOLS FOR LIFE would like to encourage, support and demand people to take their fate into their own hands. With the ROTHENBERGER Group as a global manufacturer of premium pipe tools and pipe processing machines, as well as machine tools and environmental technology, TOOLS FOR LIFE has a strong partner at its side who provides valuable help with products and the know-how of its employees.

Sustainability

Furthermore, as a company of Dr. Helmut Rothenberger Holding GmbH, we are committed to the goal of sustainability in all areas of the company.

The basis of the sustainability strategy of Dr. Helmut Rothenberger Holding GmbH are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, the ISO 2600 guideline (guideline on social responsibility) which is in line with them, supplemented by the 7 ROTHENBERGER values of cohesion as a family, trust, responsibility, efficiency, quality, courage and entrepreneurial spirit.

In the sustainability strategy, the goals were laid down in detail and prioritised. The top goals of the sustainability strategy are:
